We, in collaboration with the University of New Mexico’s Institute for Social Research and Center for Applied Research and Analysis, are in the process of conducting a 22 year longitudinal study on our Joyful Parenting Partnership program. Registration and participation in our Joyful Parenting Partnership program and in the longitudinal study are completely voluntary. The study is tracking 343 babies until they are 18 years old. During the first two years the Institute for Social Research conducted an implementation review in preparation for the study. The report, Catholic Health Initiatives St. Joseph’s Children Home Visiting Program Implementation Review, can be found below.

At the 12 month follow up for child development, the study shows that children whose parents were enrolled in our Joyful Parenting Partnership program demonstrated better development in each domain than children whose parents received treatment-as-usual. These findings were presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Annual Fall 2022 Conference.

Additionally, outcomes from the study have shown that our virtual Joyful Parenting Partnership program reduces attitudes related to harsh and neglectful parenting and these findings were presented at the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Conference. Below are the links to the respective posters and abstracts.
