LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY AGENDA 2010

» Taxing Convenience Food (for example: sodas, chips).

» Protection of Funding for Early Childhood Development in Education, Health, Human Services, and CYFD.

» Creating Income Tax on Out-of-State Corporations to fund service programs.

» Tax Bills that direct funding towards early childhood development.

» Increase State Income Tax, in order to avoid more cuts to services.

» Protect the Unborn Child of any woman who has chosen to carry that child, from violent crime.



SJCH will review all other bills that affect Early Childhood Development

SJCH does not participate in any advocacy strategies that include robo-calls or constituency-targeted mailings for any legislator.


As a direct affiliate of Catholic Health Initiatives, St. Joseph Community Health supports and participates in CHI’s advocacy activities. The 2009-2010 CHI advocacy priorities include: Health care access and coverage for all; Health care quality and equity; Fair payment to providers and programs; Preservation of the charitable purpose and tax-exempt status of non-profit health care; Access to rural health care; and Non-violence.
